PROBLEM: URGENT WORK REQUIRED TO VALVES WITHIN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

SOLUTION: OVERHAUL AND REPAIR TO EXISTING VALVES

The issue of obsolescence is one which many industries encounter.

So when we were approached by the project engineers responsible for the Thames Flood Barrier and they told us they had over 150 obsolete valves we knew we had to pull out all the stops.

With concerns of costs and timescales ever present we had to use all our experience and expertise to ensure that the Thames flood barrier stayed fully operational.

Direct replacement of the valves wasn’t an option due to the consequent major modifications that would have been required to the existing hydraulic system. This solution would have been unworkable due to the critical nature of the barrier.

Over 150 valves were overhauled and tested and all obsolete parts were sourced or manufactured with no modifications to the overall design needed.

The result, our customer was delighted with the outcome and saved considerable cost and time.
