Yes, we manufacture to all specifications, including DNV-GL, Lloyds Register, ABS and BV. We are happy to supply certificates of conformity if you require them.

Yes, this is common and we often work with these companies on a monthly basis. We are happy to allow them access to our facilities and keep them updated on every aspect of your cylinder design and manufacture. We have our own inspection department, and are willing to test to whatever specifications are required, as well as allowing inspection agencies access to the cylinders to complete their own tests.

We understand that in some cases, new hydraulics are needed as a matter of urgency and that down time is costly and problematic. Depending on complexity, cylinders are generally manufactured in a 4-8 week lead time, though we have been known to manufacture new cylinder designs in a matter of days.

We are based in England, but we export to almost any country. We’re able and willing to work with you from here in the UK and we work all over the world; and often the other side of the world! We communicate regularly via e-mails and conference calls. We have worked on projects as far away as Australia, and have not found the 12 hour time difference to be a problem.

We have a well equipped workshop in Dewsbury and are yet to find a cylinder we can’t manufacture. All sizes, models and specifications can be happily catered for by Apex.

We can make cylinders to any specifications you require. If you already have the specifications we are happy to manufacture it while the working model is in use. Without the specifications we will need to examine the current model and can engineer a replica from that. We are usually able to make a new model with the same specifications but an even better design.

While we are able to repair all hydraulic cylinder breakdowns, there may be occasions where replacement is more cost effective. Our strip and assessment department is able to quickly assess the damage and ascertain what a repair will involve, in order to be able to give you an accurate quote for repairs for you to base your decision on. Yes! We have yet to find a cylinder that we cannot manufacture or repair. At APEX we have over 30 years of experience with hydraulic cylinders and we understand what works, and what doesn’t. We have a wealth of experience in the off shore industry and understand the stress and strains that a hydraulic ram is under within this industry. Therefore, in almost all cases we are able to design a cylinder to fit in the current fabrication, that can last longer that the original manufacturer hydraulics. We also have specialist piston coating solutions that are perfectly suited to the harsh environments of the offshore industry, and that can improve the durability of the hydraulics substantially.
